All Stars & Dynamos

All Stars & Dynamos

All Stars and Dynamos Cricket is a national programme developed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), designed to give children aged 5 to 8 their first fun, safe, and inspiring introduction to the game of cricket. The initiative focuses on developing basic movement skills, hand-eye coordination, and a love for being active, all through inclusive and engaging cricket-based games and activities.

Each participant receives a personalised kit, including a bat, ball, backpack, and t-shirt with their name on it — helping to build excitement and a sense of belonging right from the start. Sessions are led by trained, enthusiastic activators who create a positive and encouraging environment for children of all abilities.

All Stars Cricket isn't just about learning a sport — it's about building confidence, making new friends, and laying the foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle.

Under 8's

Under 8's

Under 8’s is an introductory level of cricket designed specifically for children aged 6 to 8 years old. It provides a fun, inclusive, and safe environment where young players can learn the basic skills of the game while building confidence, teamwork and, and a love for sport. Also it is the first step to making life long friends.

At this age group, the emphasis is not on competition but on participation, enjoyment, and learning through play. Matches are usually short, simplified versions of cricket — often using soft balls, plastic bats, and smaller pitches to suit younger players’ size and ability.

Under 10's

Under 10's

Under 10’s is a youth cricket format aimed at children aged 9 to 10 years old. It builds on the skills and confidence developed in earlier age groups, introducing slightly more structured gameplay while keeping the focus firmly on fun, learning, and inclusive participation. At this stage, children begin to experience a more recognisable version of cricket, with slightly longer matches, the introduction of more rules, and the use of a harder ball in some formats

Under 12s/14s/16s

Under 12s/14s/16s

Under 12’s, 14’s and 16s is a youth cricket format for children aged 11 to 16, where the game becomes more structured and competitive while still supporting learning and enjoyment. It serves as a key transition between junior development cricket and more formal league or school competitions.

At this stage, players typically start using hardballs (if they haven’t already), wear protective gear, and play matches that closely resemble the adult version of the game in format and structure — but tailored to their age and skill level.
